Can Anyone Use Their Persona Outside the Metaverse

Persona, formerly known as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona outside of Japan, is a computer game series created and initially released by Atlus, a company operated by Sega.

Persona comes from the Atlus’ Megami Tensei brand, whose main focus is on a saga of role – playing virtual games. The very first game in the franchise, Revelations: Persona, was published for Sony PlayStation in 1996.

From then on, the franchise has seen numerous more expansions, with the latest main release being Persona 5 Royal in 2019.

The answer to the question of whether you can use your Persona outside the Metaverse is a bit more complex. In fact, it depends on the release of the game.

Check out the Persona version and learn which Personas you can use in the so-called Real-World.

The Meaning Behind Persona

Simply put, a Persona is a user’s manifestation of a superpower or a personality.

A Persona is comparable to a ghost, or a shadow. Shadows are evil representations of one’s innermost feelings, whereas a Persona is a domesticated and controlled expression of identical impulses.

If an individual makes a sincere decision, the Persona will metamorphose into a more powerful version.

While a conjuring process of a Persona varies from edition to edition, a convention succeeding versions maintain is that, if a Persona is called, a turquoise flame is always produced.

Persona’s Complete Timeline

“Revelations: Persona” was first released in 1996, after which there were no other releases for the next 3 years. In 1999, “Persona 2: Innocent Sin” was introduced, while only a year later “Persona 2: Eternal Punishment” was presented.

Fast forward to 2006, when “Persona 3” was released, “Persona 3 FES” in 2007, “Persona 4 in 2008”, while “Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3”, and “Persona 3 Portable” were up on the market in 2009.

The team kept a busy schedule in the upcoming years too, releasing a remake of “Persona 2” in 2011, “Persona 4 Arena”, “Persona 2: Eternal Punishment” (remake), and “Persona 4 Golden” in 2012.

The year 2013 was dedicated to “Persona 4 Arena Ultimax”, 2014 to “Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth”, 2015 to “Persona 4: Dancing All Night”, and 1016 to “Persona 5”.

“Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight”, “Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight”, and “Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth” were all released in 2018.

Finally, “Persona 5 Royal” came in 2019, while the latest release came in 2020 – “Persona 5 Strikers”.

Overview: The Evolution of Persona

Following is an overview of the evolution of Persona’s main series:

  • Revelations: Persona – The gameplay occurs in Mikage-Cho, a small town, where teenage students from St. Hermalin High are destined to battle an infestation of evil spirits
  • Persona 2: Innocent Sin – The game got a new location, at the coastal city of Sumaru, with a few adjustments, including the gameplay. Innocent Sin offers sequel-like gameplay, following the story of Tatsuya Suou.
  • Persona 2: Eternal Punishment – The main protagonist in this release is Maya Amano, who is already present in Innocent Sin. The character is fighting a comparable speculating danger as Tatsuya.
  • Persona 3 – This main release revolves around a plot that takes set in Iwatodai. A set of teenagers called “S.E.E.S” are battling demons that arise during the so-called Dark Hour.
  • Persona 4 – The game is set in the remote village of Inaba. The gameplay revolves around a number of students who investigate a string of murders linked to the Midnight Channel.
  • Persona 5 – Located in Tokyo, a set of teenagers portray themselves as criminals in order to combat the injustice in the city. Their goal is to achieve liberation from the enforced society’s norms.

What is the Metaverse?

The Metaverse is the setting for fighting in Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, and its immediate successor, Persona 5 Strikers.

The Metaverse, like Tartarus and the Midnight Channel, is produced from the subconscious mind. But, unlike their corresponding realms, the locales in the Metaverse are customized mental environments derived from real Tokyo locations.

Metaverse world and Metaverse Crypto

Although the Metaverse does not normally have visible effects on the physical world, it is believed to have melded with it if that is what the Lord desires.

More often than not, a Metaverse Navigator is necessary to go around the Metaverse, and anybody without a Persona will surely encounter a life or death scenario within it.

Can You Use the Persona Outside of the Metaverse?

As we have already mentioned, the answer to the question depends on the version you’re playing. In fact, playing the P4 or P5 releases of Persona means that you cannot summon the persona outside of its Metaverse.

However, if you happen to be playing P1, P2, or P3, the answer is affirmative! When it comes to P1, you can use your Persona in the Real-World, and you can even hold multiple personas at once. To cast in the P3 on the other hand, you would need help from the Evokers.
